Robert Beltran

Robert Beltran portrays the Maquis first-officer onboard Voyager. When Voyager's appointed first-officer gets killed, Chakotay is appointed as the new XO, as he has experience at Starfleet and can discipline his Maquis crew. Born and raised in Bakersfield, California, Robert graduated Fresno State University with a degree in Theater Arts. His passion for acting began in elementary school and as such has developed considerably well over the last few years. Before landing the role of traitorous Maquis Commander, Robert has had an extensive list of credits, both on television, on stage and on screen. Beltran's extensive lists include "A Midsummer Night's Dream", "Hamlet", "King Henry IV" for the California Shakespear Festival, while for the El Teatro Campesino, he performed in such plays as "Corridos", "Rose Of The Rancho" and "La Pastorella". For the Los Angeles Theater Center, Robert appeared in "I Don't Have To Show You No Stinkin' Badges". His feature film credits include the critically acclaimed "Eating Raoul", "Gaby", "Kiss Me A Killer", "Scenes From the Class Struggle In Beverly Hills" and portrayed John Sturges in Oliver Stone's film "Nixon". While on the small screen, he appeared in such shows as "Models Inc.", "Midnight Caller", "Mystic Warrior", guest-starred on "Lois And Clark: The New Adventures of Superman", "Murder, She Wrote" and "Miami-Vice". Robert is the founding member and co-artistic director of the East Los Angeles Classic Theater Group. designed to provide cultural enrichment to the East Los Angeles community. His theater has performned "The Touch of a Poet" and "The Price" at the California State University. Recently Robert starred and directed "Hamlet" at the Actor's Gang Theater in Los Angeles.
