LT. COMMANDER GEORDI LA FORGE

Geordi La Forge is a blind chief-engineer of the Federation's flagship. His disability has not disappointed him in any way's, as he is supported by an equipment known as the VISOR, Visual Input Sensory Optical Reflector, which allows him to see. Geordi was originally the conn-officer of the Enterprise, but transferred to chief-engineer to fill the endless void during the second-season and demonstrated his unique ability to keep the huge starship's engine running. Even his intelligence could not save the flagship from destruction from the Duras's sister who used his VISOR as an aid to know the ship's shield frequency, that eventually led to its untimely demise.

On the relationship side of things, Geordi has had trouble finding the right partner, and had to have fumble to get a relationship going, much akin to the character of George in "Seinfeld". Thus, he found friendship among a holodeck character Leah Brahms, who helped him escaped a Menthar booby-trap in season three's "Booby Trap". She later resurface in person during season four's, "Galaxy's Child". Geordi also gets a shock news that his mother is lost while trying out a new VISOR input in season seven's, "Interface".
