JONATHAN FRAKES
Jonathan Frakes portrays Commander William Riker, the Enterprise's
first-officer. Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Jonathan was an undergraduate at Penn State and
continued his education at Harvard, spending several seasons with the Loeb Drama Center. He then
spent five years in New York, appearing on and off Broadway in several regional theater
productions.
Prior to his role as Riker, Jonathan had recurring roles in such shows as
"Falcon's Crest", "Paper Dolls"
and "Bare Essence" and for years was a contract player on the
daytime drama, "The Doctors". His other television work includes
the television movie, "The Nutcracker" and the critically
acclaimed roles in the mini-series "Dream West" and "North & South" (Parts I and II).
During the third season of TNG, Jonathan made his directorial debut in the
episode, "The Offspring"
and thus continued to direct several episodes thereafter. He also made his feature-film
directorial with "Star Trek: First Contact", in 1996 and The
Next Generation's second movie "Star Trek: Insurrection".
Jonathan may even direct the sequel to the hit 1990 film "Total
Recall" which is currently in development. Jonathan is currently directing a sci-fi
comedy adventure "Clockstoppers", which is in production now.
Jonathan is married to actress Genie Francis and resides in Los Angeles. |
