"PART II"

Commander Sisko and his crew discover an artificial wormhole and must stake a claim to it before the Cardassians do...

------

After Sisko and his crew successfully lure the Cardassians away and disable their Sensor-System, Sisko and Dax take a Runabout to study more about this Denorios Belt and the appearance of the Orbs within it. They soon find that the Orbs found their way into the Bajoran System through the use of a stable wormhole, the so-called Celestial Temple. Sisko is excited about this find and decides to write their names in the history books. However, as they make their way back to the wormhole, their Runabout stalls and lands on a habitable surface.

Sisko exits to find a barren world, while Dax exits to find an idyllic garden setting. It is obvious that whoever created these vision wanted a different perception of the two. Soon, an Orb appears and greets them. Dax and Sisko is struck down by the Orb, and Sisko is dragged further into an alternate reality, while the Orb returns Dax to the station.

On the station, Kira and the others prepare to go in search and rescue mission of their missing commander, and Kira wants the station to be moved to the mouth of wormhole. All O'Brien has to do is lower the inertial mass of the station to make it feasible for their trip to the Denorios Belt. Odo, meanwhile, has more pressing issues to deal with, such as discovering if there are others like him on the other side of the wormhole, as he, too, was discovered in the Denorios Belt. Soon, Kira, Dax, Odo and Bashir take a Runabout to discover their wormhole.

------

Meanwhile, Commander Sisko is having visions and his first meeting with the mysterious Prophets of Bajor. He tries to explain to them that he is not a threat and that he is merely here to understand one another. The wormhole aliens are having a hard-time understanding Sisko's explanation, and imposes question after question to Commander Sisko, who must try to answer it in the best possible manner.

Meanwhile, on DS9, O'Brien is having a difficult time with the station's computer as he tries to break orbit and head for the Denorios Belt. The Cardassian computer isn't as proficient as the Enterprise's computer, and he has to manually fly the station through space. He finally achieves thrust out of Bajor and head for the Denorios Belt.

Kira, meanwhile, is on her way to the mouth of the wormhole, as is Gul Dukat, whose sensors have just been restored. Dukat, obviously not in the mood for reasoning, ignores Kira's warning that the wormhole could be dangerous and heads straight for it. Kira hopes that they reach it first before Dukat does. Kira is unsuccessful as she watch Dukat's ship enter the wormhole and disappear.

The wormhole aliens takes Sisko on a wild journey and takes him back to the moment where the Saratoga blows up and informs him that his existence lies here, just before collapsing the wormhole after Gul Dukat's ship enter the wormhole, leaving Sisko stranded. Kira can't believe it as the wormhole disappears right in front of her.

------

After the aliens collapse the wormhole, Sisko tries to explain that they are not a threat, but to co-exist one another. The alien's understanding of the human's are slim-to-none as Sisko tries to explain the matter of human behavior by using linear time as an example. After explaining all this, the alien's continue to take Sisko back to the time the Saratago blew up, with the alien's saying "this is where he belongs," much to Sisko's chagrin and confusion.

Meanwhile, Kira returns to DS9 in the Denorios Belt and has a few problems. The Cardassian ship's, in orbin of Bajor, have detected Gul Dukat's disappearance, and is on it's way to get an explanation from the Major. Their leader, Gul Jasad, doesn't appreciate Kira's explanation and advises her that she is to surrender the station or a battle will begin. Jasad also blocks all communication with Starfleet.

------

On Deep Space Nine, Major Kira Nerys prepare to battle the Cardassians, while Sisko continues his mystical journey with the wormhole aliens. With the help of the Kai Opaka alien, Sisko suddenly realizes the message to him. He chose to die with Jennifer during the battle of Wolf-359, and couldn't live with the consequences of living without her. The alien's begin to understand Sisko's turmoil.

Major Kira gives Jasad his answer, when she fires the remaining torpedoes left to provoke Jasad. However, Jasad doesn't believe the station is capable of defending itself and moves into attack formation. The station suffers minor damage and casualties, and when all hope begins to fade, the wormhole reopens to reassure Jasad. Sisko brings back the lost Cardassian warship and the Cardassian's withdraw, saving the Major from any further loss of life.

Picard and Starfleet congratulate Sisko for putting Bajor on the map to the Federation, and Sisko re-evaluates his decision to leave Starfleet and decides to remain and make sure that Bajor becomes a Federation member. After repairing the station, normal activity continue in the new commercial space-station: Deep Space Nine...
