Welcome to the informative Deep Space Nine series web site. This site contains the information to the third Star Trek series, the first spin-off series. From its successful start in the episode, "Emissary" to its last episode, "What You Leave Behind", this series ran for seven successful seasons. Left in the middle of the pack of the Star Trek series, with the Star Trek: The Next Generation movies about to begin, and the second spin-off series, Star Trek: Voyager, about to start, this series was thought of as the unwanted middle child. With its dark and gritty future, some trekkies never warmed to its storylines.

Star Trek Deep Space Nine was created in 1991 by Rick Berman and Michael Piller, executive producers of the hit television series, Star Trek The Next Generation. Originally envisioned as a series set on a futuristic planet by the late Gene Roddenberry, Rick and Mike moved it to an abandoned and remote space station on the edge of the final frontier, fearing Gene's project would involve a huge scale budget. It would be one of two spinoff series that evolves around the Star Trek lore and after its debut in 1993, quickly became successful and certainly does live long and prosper.
