SECURITY CHIEF ODO

Odo is one of the most mysterious characters that is so important in "Star Trek". Coming from the Gamma Quadrant, Odo has the ability to shapeshift, making him an ideal security chief. Most of the first season of DS9, Odo has been trying to learn where he came from. But, on the episode "The Search" the season three premiere, he is instinctively led to his homeworld. Odo has gone through many changes during the course of the season, like Sisko. Losing his shapeshifting abilities in the episode, "Broken Link", his punishment for killing a fellow changeling in the episode "The Adversary", regaining it in the episode "The Begotten", found his home, as explained above, until he learned that his people are a part of the Dominion, the rulers of the Gamma Quadrant and the troublesome Jem'Hadar. While Odo is part of the Great Link, he considers his people troublesome. Odo longs for the day when he can return to his home safely and not be branded an outcast. Odo has that continuing hate-relationship with Quark, the perfect scoundrel on the station.
